Essay of Reflection

High School has been a very challenging, yet rewarding experience. It has allowed me to grow a ton as a human being. It has also showed me that you must take responsibility for yourself.

I struggled as a freshman, and as a sophomore. I struggled so much that I ended up failing some classes at the end of my sophomore year. That’s when I began to realize that I had to take responsibility for myself. I had to buckle down, and show everyone that I could accomplish my goals. But first, I had to set those goals. I set goals that were tough, yet reachable. I told myself that I would attend college, and end with a degree in Information Technology. That’s still what I plan to do.

My first few years of high school were tough. I was the kid who stayed locked up in his room for hours at a time playing Call of Duty, or tinkering on my computer. I didn’t really have much of a social life. However, around the end of my sophomore year, and the beginning of my junior year, I met some of the best friends I could ever ask for. They helped to steer me in the right direction, and showed me that true friends are hard to come by.

For awhile, I had no idea if I even wanted to attend college. Then, I figured out, that life isn’t about making millions upon millions of dollars. It’s about living comfortably, and happily; and that’s what I aspire to do.

High school has been a place that has allowed me to grow a ton as a person. It showed me that the real word is tougher than you might think, and that you should always prepare for what’s ahead. I look forward to attending college, and leading a comfortable life.
